Today Mrs. Geetings read aloud, 'Just Like Caitlin' to the second grade class. The students learned that it's good to begin dreaming BIG at an early age. Turns out, many years ago when Caitlin Clark was in second grade she wrote on a note that her dream was to play in the WNBA. All across Iowa, second grade students are receiving a free copy of the book, 'Just Like Caitlin' generously gifted by Dickson and Luann Jensen- proud Iowans, business owners, parents, coaches, and grandparents. The Jensen family hopes to inspire students in Iowa to dream big... just like Caitlin.

More Kindergarten voting pictures! 🇺🇸
Happy Election Day! Kindergarten had fun learning about this special event! We discussed the meaning of election. We learned that after choices were presented a vote would determine the outcome. The choices in Kindergarten were cosmic brownie or popsicle for snack? After a friendly debate, which was priceless,, the kinders made their way to the poll! They presented their ID (lunch ticket) and marked their ballot. After voting, they received a smiley face sticker to show they had voted! After the votes were tallied, it was determined that popsicles would be the class snack. Everyone was happy with the outcome and had a fun learning experience!😀
Last week we held our Creative Writing Scary Story Contest, and we are thrilled to announce the winners. Congratulations to Kat Luckey for winning 1st place in our recent competition! Congratulations to Carter Pettyjohn for securing 2nd place!

In Memory of David Weeks….
As most of you know David was a student at Twin Cedars and we lost him due to cancer on April 24, 2023.
Mrs Davis would like to do something very special to keep David’s memory going! She will be collecting supplies in her classroom beginning Tuesday November 5th until Thursday December 12th for the Marion County Humane Society. Everyone that knew David knew his love for animals, especially dogs. Her plan is to deliver to the Humane Society on Friday, December 13, which would've been David’s 18th birthday. She is hoping that this is successful and she’d love to keep this going for years to come.
If you have any used instruments at home and want to donate them to the Twin Cedars Band program, just drop them off at the high school. We are starting the 5th graders and need some instruments.
After prom is selling Veterans' Day shirts. Get yours today! Order forms are due to the office November 1st. Forms will be sent home with the elementary students today.
